WHEN YOUR NECK, SHOULDERS, ARMS and hands are feeling sore from long hours at your computer, then its time for a swim. This exercise will realease tension in your over worked upper body. Before starting, roll your chair back and make sure you have the space for your arms to swing forward ina swimming motion. And if your colleagues give you a strange look, tell them to join you in the office pool.
1. Front stroke
While sitting at your desk, stretch your left hand forward in a swimming motion. As you stretch forward, grab at the air and pull your left hand back. As your left left arm comes back, reach your right arm forward.
Keep going , one arm after the other, until you feel your shoulders loosen. Remember to breathe deeply and move in a fluid motion. Relax your body, especially your shoulders
2. Back Stroke
Roll your left arm back slowly and hold your hand in a fist. Follow with your right arm in a similar motion.
Go slowly and feel the stretch around the shoulder blades. Keep swimming until you feel invigorated. |

Does rowing around in the staffroom on that chair with wheels count as a suitable exercise dear Miss IVY? |
