Sob! Sob!.....Hey!!!! Like the say, it ain't over till the fat lady sings!!!! So if Mag doesn't sing this afternoon, then it's not over!!!! In fact, it will never be over cos the ties that we have made will always remain. We'll keep in touch, won't we? And Martin's coming next year...and we can have a reunion then!

Thanks so much, Pat and Mag...for putting up with this grumpy old man. I have had the best birthdays...and a wonderful retirement on the show with all of you and I have made the best of friends too. The years just slipped by unnoticed when you're having fun....;thanks for the many occasions when you all made me laugh (though frankly somebody's jokes bore me to death! Hey! Did that kill the show? Grrrrrrr!!!!!! Hahahahaha!) and thanks for all the songs you've played for me (...though not all! Hehehehehehehe!!!!!). I'll see you in KL....or do let me know, if you're coming over!!!! Cheers!

As I am a newbie with the show, I'm just starting to get to know the rest of you and now it's going to be over TODAY? Been busy with work lately so I didn't get to listen to the afternoon show as much as I'd like to.. and to think that I won't be able to tune in to the finale show this afternoon - as I'll be away signing some contract on behalf of the company I work for... haihhhhhhhhhhh... just my luck! *sobs*

But thanks to Marty, we have this forum to lepak and meet each other in virtual world! Smile

I've been sitting here staring blankly at my computer screen for the past half hour, teary eyed and emotional Sad . I can't believe it's really over..... this amazing journey that we all have been riding out for the past two years. Man, it sucks!! The people responsible for putting an end to the afternoon journey sucks even more!!! I feel like I've been robbed, my daily routine disrupted, and my quality time spent with The Family snatched right from under my nose. Who the f**k gave them the right to mess up my life schedule???!!! Mad Evil or Very Mad

When Mag dropped the bomb on Friday, I was stunned. Then I was pissed off. This can't really be happening..... can it?? Confused Confused I heard about the changes that was coming but f**k, I never expected this!!!!! I called up the station last Friday and got Pat on the line. Can't remember what I said to him tho..... coz my mind was going wild, my thots jumbled up so words just tumbled out. When Mag came on the line, I broke. I choked up and couldn't speak so I had to hang up.

Dear sweet Mag..... thez so much that I wanna say to you but words are not enough to say all the things that I wanna say. J once said to me that you're a sister he wished he had.... I havta agree with him on that. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that I'm the only girl in my family but if I were to wish for a sister, it'd be you, Mag. I wouldn't even wish for someone like you, no. Just you. Love ya babes. Anyhoo, I had a good cry after I hung up the phone on Friday as flashback of the 2 year journey came flashing in my head......

Check this out..... thez Pat & Mag on one end, and then thez all of us individuals from every corner of the country. We came into the dhow as individuals, making song requests, sending out dedications - straightforward, typical request & dedication show. Mag made a rule that all messages are to be read out and not ignored (sweet Mag, as thoughtful as always). Back then when The Show first started, song requests were still 'manageable' so it was a sure thing that you'll get to hear your song being played on air. Then Pat & Mag being the geniuses that they are, decided to spice up The Show by putting their own twist into it thru our messages. Humour was added in. It worked and everyone was down with it. Arthur, Deb, Jerry da Janitor, Pam, Zul and I, being the kepohs that we are, started sending a few more messages to The Show each day which resulted in the birth of the 'Bald & the Bountiful'..... an afternoon radio drama which turned into real life drama. We were all strangers to one another when we first joined The Show..... then we bonded and became friends on The Show as well as outside The Show. For that, I have to thank both Pat & Mag for bringing us all together. Which other show offers that much love huh??? None. The Show, 'our' show Smile is all about bringing people closer, about keeping the peace and about spreading love...... and that's what makes The Show special and unique. Nuff said.

Pat..... his sarcasm and laser tongue no doubt can slice you to pieces especially when he's on the roll.... but like what Mag said, he's actually a really nice guy. A true gentleman, I'd like to add. On The Show, Pat's like the Jr. Ewing.... the guy everybody love to hate..... but I've had the pleasure of getting to know the real dude & trust me, behind the grumpy persona lies a remarkable human being. So listen up ladies and take it from me.... Patrick Michael's a good catch. For real Smile . Love you too Pat.

Of course when you talk about The Show, you can't help but talk about The Family as well..... The Family started out small, just a handful of us.... but as the show progressed, The Family grew. F**k, we even have family all the way in the UK whom in my opinion has made the biggest contribution in keeping the Family Tree going on by hooking us up with this fantastic fansite. Thanx Marty, for being so brilliant. You're our main link now buddy. No pressure...... Wink

Gotta give props to the 'senior' family members as well for sticking around all this time even tho there were moments where we may have felt neglected and pushed to the side to make way and welcome new family members Smile ..... (hey, just keepin' it real ya'll).... but it's all good. And we should all be proud of ourselves for sticking it out thru thick and thin, thru good and bad, thru happy and sad right from day one!

My personal thanx to Arthur, Cash, Mag, J, Pam, Pat and Zul for always being there for me. I went thru quite of a bit of 'hoo-ha' in the past two years and with the help of you guys, I pulled through stronger than ever. Thank you guys, from the bottom of my heart for being part of my life's treasure. I love yous..........!!!!!!! Let's continue being the pillar of strength for The Family yah?

To the rest of The Family..... I wish I had more airtime to get to know ya'll...... we could really have a blast but hey, thez still the 'Family Room' for us to hang out and chill, rite? So help yourself, don't be shy Wink Smile
Lets have fun together as how a family would aite.

Alrighty, think I've said enuff so I'm gonna wrap this up with some very familiar words spoken by a wise man..... Keep The Peace & Spread The Love ya'll. Thanx Pat, for drumming that into our heads each and everytime you're on air.

Long Live The Family!

Hugs & Muahs,
Da Real Zee

firstly mar... don't give my hubby ideas k Confused Twisted Evil

and zee, I don't know where to begin...

firstly, everything changes right? so yeah... maybe the management thought its high time for a change and that the replacements would probably do a better job than us... you never know... Rolling Eyes Confused don't worry, you'll get used to it soon Wink

well, let me tell you sthg about the lives of announcers... there are many types of announcers... here are 4
1. the ones who are eager in the begining and the fire dies off faster than anything...
2. the ones who step into the media world and gets bumped up to "celebrity" status very fast only to fall even faster
3. the ones who start at a very humble begining, learn the ropes and improve themselves as they go along and work their way up to the "popular" status
4. the ones who just stay the way they are from the time they start till the end of their careers

I'm #3 and I think Pat is too... together with some really good friends of ours... Wink Confused

when I first started back in 2001, some of the seniors thought that I would never last! why? cuz I looked all sweet and all, soft spoken, and not daring enough to do stage shows... Confused Rolling Eyes

but I didn't know of this till I was in my 3rd or 4th year here... and they told me that they're shocked! for me, it was simple! my dad always told me this... "the faster you go up, the faster you fall... take your time and learn it all... cuz when you're up there you know you worked hard for it and you deserve it!"

so I did just that... made everyday a learning experience... and made my listeners my guide... I made friends, learned what ppl wanted and tried my best to make them happy... Wink Razz but of course, you cant make everyone happy... sometimes I'd get calls that leave me in tears... but I learnt from all that experience! Wink Razz and of course without my parents constant support and now my hubby's too I would have dropped out long before Wink

you see... my point is not to tell you my experience as an announcer... but to point out that as much as I might not be a very social person... going out and mingling and all... I treasure the friends I make while I am on duty... cuz to me, without you guys... why else do we work? right?

back in 2001, I started a midnight teen show with a partner who is so dear to me... now my hubby Wink Razz (uess I reveal sthg new everythime I write in here huh?)

well, there we made tonnes of friends and they were all school, college and university kids... and one of them is Siva... remember him? he used to call every tuesday when we had tuesday titles... cuz back then we had this too... only not with that name lah... we used to a lot of weird things there too... granma cruizer was a regular there as well... anyways, we grew so attached to them that ending the show in 2005 was just as bad... but the good side of it... these kids still remember us... they might not know where we are now, but when they do hear us, they call and chat... Wink Razz

and as the person on the receiving side it feels pretty darn good! Razz Very Happy makes us so happy and feel appreciated!!! but that only cuz we appreciated you enough to make you part of our lives! Wink Razz

and we'll always remember you... just hope you will too... Wink Razz

you guys keep us going... me especially... I look forward to receiving smses from y'll just saying you're there tuning in! Wink

so I'll forever remember y'll for y'll 2 helped me get to where I am today Wink

Oh! The obituaries....

Honestly folks.... Its been a heck of a ride but changes are usually unexpected... Retrenchment, Deceit, A break-up (at least to one party), death, death of a cat (sorry Zee, needed to make the point)...

But when is change good or bad? I've been down that road a lot and one thing's for sure, Good or Bad can't be determined at the point, the change occurs.

I also do realize that from now on, when you meet either one of us, you can't help asking about the other. Families stick together. If "We Are Family", then I can expect to be in touch with all of you regularly here (or for 'Yum-Chars').

Take things in stride, but I believe, "If You Can't Make A Good Lasting Impression In Anyone's Life, Then You Might Wanna Evaluate Your Existence"

I think I'll leave "KEEP THE PEACE & SPREAD THE LOVE" here, for the final time.

Hiya Pat, Mag, and the rest of the family! I'm one of the 5 new DJs Traxx got in, and I happen to be one part of the duo they allotted the afternoon show to. I found this site by accident (I was googling traxx on a whim, and saw this link) so decided to see what's on here.

First off, I must say I was a little surprised that the new DJs would be slotted into the more 'prime time' slots so early on. I honestly thought we'd be doing the standard 'graveyard shifts' for at LEAST a couple of months to find out what we're made of before chucking us in whatever slots later on. But I suppose they have their reasons.

Stumbling upon this fan page made me realise the enormity of the task handed to us: to take over an afternoon show with a staunch following. Sure I've heard people say that we might get some grief from Pat and Mag fans calling up, but I thought that meant 3 or 4 'hardcore' listeners. Little did I know that Pat and Mag had a whole bunch of avid listeners, or 'family' (and I think you're right Pat, I've never heard of any other DJ with this kind of a tightly knit community behind them). You guys wouldn't believe (or maybe you would, since it might have been some of you who made the calls, Razz) the number of calls Mary and I would get asking "Where are Pat and Mag?". Quite a few seemed to have been caught completely by surprise, coming back after a week off to find out that their favourite DJs aren't on during their regular slots.

I've only been here for about a month plus, and I must admit I am still getting to know most of the senior DJs, Pat and Mag included. I've sat in on Pat and Mag's show once, and I thought they were TIGHT on air. I can honestly say I've never seen a pair who could complete each others sentences and in general complement each other so perfectly! (with the exception of maybe DoubleD & Roundhead and the Navsta/Nigel duo). I hope I'll get to know you guys better, and we'll be a closer knit family, with me and the other 4 new ones playing the part of the newer siblings.

I've chatted with Pat on a number of occasions, and he is an awesome dude! I like the fact that he is unafraid to speak his mind and voice his opinions. And, he's hilarious when he wants to be (watching them on the show, I think Mag sort of pushes his "Insane Mode" buttons very well, heh).

I've only had the chance to briefly chit chat with Mag a total of 3 times, I think, but you can tell from the first time you see her she's as sweet as honey with a smile that makes you forget you're tired and had a crappy day.

I'm going to end this by not saying "we're going to try and do a show as good as or better than Pat and Mag's" because I doubt anybody else can do what Pat and Mag can. We will try our best to do a great show though, and I hope that the 'family' will accept us as part of the afternoons. You guys can still catch Pat or Mag on their shows - Pat doing midnights at 12 I should think, and Mag with her morning shows from 9 (personally I think it's a pity you guys have been split up, and also a few other duos that I thought were simply FANTASTIC, but I guess they're trying to experiment with the dynamics around here).

Keep on listening to Traxx, guys, and know that eventhough the afternoon show might not be the same again, you still have this family around to share with (I hope you guys won't mind if I occasionally drop by and mess around here, eh?) Laters!

You're welcome to come by anytime. I have listened in a few times from the UK and enjoyed what you are doing. We have a bit of a beef with TraxxFM but not the new Dj's, you've got a job to do and from what I have heard in the UK it is still pretty good.

Please comeby when you can.

hey there fadthedillly (ooohhh i cant spell your name lol)
\
anyway as always we tend to give the new guys and gals hard time (LOL) but honestly you have a big shoe (look at pat's feet) to fill in...

My advice is to hear your listener out... coz if they are listening to you during that time slot...they are listening becoz they wanted too. Not becoz they accidently listen to you. So make an effort to know what you listener want.

Pat and mag succeed coz they keep the that day-graveyard shift alive with their banter and all. 1-4 is napping time for some but they stay awake for that show... so imagine its attractiveness

and yes... we have become so darn close (again one fact I dont undertand) I am still wondering how can I be so attach to s show on radio... that fact still baffle me...anyway i sincerely cherish all my radio family...

so fathedillo (sorry lol) feel free to drop in and seek advice here coz we are willing to help... no worries... we will be nice....well...I am always nice (shut up marty) lol

I really appreciate it! I'll definitely pop by every once in a while. I'm kinda new, so mostly I just do whatever they ask me to, but I'll try to steer things the way the afternoon crowd likes it. Later, more likely than sooner, but I do agree, what's the point of doing a show if you know the listeners aren't getting what they want, right? Smile Again, thanks ya!

Hiya folks! Been awhile since I last showed my face in here but I believe I have a valid reason for being missing. It's been hard trying to juggle my work schedule around Mag & Pat's slots especially when management keeps changing their slots every so often. However, I'm proud to say that I have not missed a single slot of theirs be it at midnite or at 3-6 in the morning, I'm there. Always ready to spend my fifty cents to send in text messages to their show just to let them know that nothing's changed, that my support still continues even if it means sacrificing my sleep.

Now let's move on to you, FadThe DillyO.... The first time I heard you on air was before the big shuffle where you did a show with Mary and I must say that I was impressed. I remember telling Roundhead that I thought that you don't sound like a rookie at all, that you sound real natural and I also told him that I thought you have very good potential. Here's what you need to understand.... we (the listeners) don't expect for you guys to sound all pro like the senior jocks or to be anything like them, no. We also don't expect you to blow us away so soon. Mag & Pat, along with some of the 'veteran' jocks at Traxx have been around for a long time. They started out fresh just like you but they worked hard to get to where they are today. It's only natural for the listeners to compare you to the seniors especially when their fav jocks are taken away from their usual slots and replaced by the newer jocks. It can be a bit unfair to you guys but that's just the way it is. The listeners are entitled to their own opinions as well as preferences and the only thing that you can do on your part is to be the best that you can be and hope for the best. You know that you can't please everybody so don't worry about having to 'fill in those big shoes' aite. Talking to the senior jocks would help you in getting an idea of what the listeners want and expect from ya'll. They've been around long enough to know and understand their listeners so yeah, that's a good place to start in trying to understand the listeners. Also like Zul said, try listening to your listeners coz at the end of the day, we are the ones who are listening in, we are the ones you guys are supposed to be entertaining. If you say that you had sat in on the afternoon show then you would've noticed that we (the Family) are quite and easy bunch to please - provided you know how to.

Anyhoo, to end this lil note this is all I have to say to you.... I think you've been doing a pretty good job so far and I have no complaints whatsoever. Keep it up!

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I really appreciate it. Of course, I realize I've got a looong way to go before I can be as smooth and consistent as the senior guys (but they've all told me 'don't worry, we were in that situation too'. Thanks dudes!). Roundhead/Double D, Pat/Mag, Navsta/Nigel, partnerships like that don't just happen like magic, but over time the magic happens. I hope I get my dose of magic when the time comes! And thanks Mr. zeezulu, and all the rest of the family for your kind words and being loyal listeners of TraxxFM.
