This is Serious!

This incident happened recently in North Texas .

A woman went boating one Sunday taking with her some cans of coke which she put into the refrigerator of the boat. On Monday she was taken to the hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit. She died on Wednesday.

The autopsy concluded she died of Leptospirosis. This was traced to the can of coke she drank from, not using a glass. Tests showed that the can was infected by dried rat urine and hence the disease Leptospirosis.

Rat urine contains toxic and deathly substances. It is highly recommended to thoroughly wash the upper part of soda cans before drinking out of them. The cans are typically stocked in warehouses and transported straight to the shops without being cleaned.

A study at NYCU showed that the tops of soda cans are more contaminated than public toilets (i.e).. full of germs and bacteria. So wash them with water before putting them to the mouth to avoid any kind of fatal accident.

I always wash the top of the can before drinking...
...and when eating out, wipe any cutlery before using them - no matter how clean they look.
Guess it's a habit - and a good one I guess... Laughing

I think alot of ppl do that nowadays!! Try to rinse the top of the can too if it's possible!! Sometimes dry tissues don't get all the bits of dirt on it .... my thoughs!!! I don't quite fancy the restaurants or especially mamak stalls where the put all the cutlery in a holder and it goes from table to table and some ppl touch the tips of the forks of spoons and I've seen some sneeze when that thing is right in front of them .... puts me off lah!!!

I agreed... I hated when I saw someone served a bowl of sup or noodles with his or her tumb ( with a long finger nail) in the side of the bowl.

yup... seen that before.... Wink seen once a burger stall... totally not his fault though... the burger vendor didnt realise a cockroach had climbed into the hot grill thingy and when he turned the burger patty, it landed nicely on the cockroach... can you imagine? Rolling Eyes Confused

he was quick to push it away and clean the pan, but the burger was still out aside with the rest to be fitted in the bun... dont think the person who ordered that burger realized that Rolling Eyes Confused

cockroach .......can be eaten Cool ( but i never try before). I knew some parts of the world (like Thailand) do eat insect.

Some restaurant , if you have a chance to go to thier kitchen, sometimes we can see chef or cook, without wearing anything on her or his head and sweating like no body business , well..........imagine how they clean up the sweat on thier forehead ? Some clean it with towels but what I had seen is , clean with thier hands and I am thinking, did they add additional ingredient in the dish Question ( jeng.............jeng.....jeng........... Twisted Evil )
