What's fun without the Barron Knights? Martin should know this band cos they're from his part of the world and were popular in the 60's...and surprisingly, when I was there in the 90's, they were still around and I managed to get hold of one of their cassette tapes. They do parodies like Weird Al Yankovic. Here is a sample, their version of The Logical Song by Supertramp...
When I was young
All the gas was so plentiful
Bountiful, oh, liberal
My tank was full
And all the pumps on the street
They would dangle so happily
Joyfully, oh, playfully filling me
And then a shortage arose
And I tried to be sensible
Logical, economical, responsible
Top40db.com
Top40db.net
Top40db.org.
And now they doubled the price
Filling up can be ludicrous
Ridiculous, I get furious
Impestious
There are lines that
Stretch across the land
How much can we withstand
They're holding back the fuel
So instead, in traffic jams I fight
Crouched on my sister's bike
I really look the fool
I said watch where you park
Cause they siphon in after dark
What a lark, oh, and when you start
There's just a spark
And if you run in line
You'll be pushed out in double time
And soon you'll find, oh, you'll
Be behind the last car sign
Oh, pump it, pump it
Pump it, yeah
Don't you think
It's getting out of hand
Pumping out with a gas can
Don't tell me it's all gone
They say odds and
Evens will see a few
Please tell me what to do
The lines are far too long
They're so long
They're so long
They're so long _________________ CIKGU ARTHUR

Superb group. When Live Aid was on I went round to one of my Director's houses where his kids were having an all day party. He said we should go down the pub where his friend would meet us. His friend turned out to be the lead singer from the Barron Knights. When we went back to the house the kinds were watching the show and he joined in mimicking every act that came on... the kids were in awe.. what talent... _________________ Cheers,

Ooo...u know the Barron Knights??? I'm eating my heart out!!! Must send u the cassette so u can get their autographs! Another good one is their parody of Leo Sayer's You make me feel like dancing and the lyrics go something like..."The tailor left the pins in;that's why my voice is like this when I sing!" Hilarious!!! Also got parody of Electric Light Orchestra's Telephone Line! _________________ CIKGU ARTHUR
