You guys in Malaysia have a fairly set life sunrise this time, sunset 12 hours later... in the UK we have just put the clocks back so we get more daylight in the morning eventually, around mid December, the daylight time is about 5 hours which we call the shortest day. In June the opposite happens and we have 19 hours of daylight in mid-June and that day is called the longest day.

Some places in the world have almost permananet darkness or permanent daylight at specific times of the year.

What do you think the pros and cons are? What if this happened in Malaysia? What would it do to everybody's habits and routines?

i cant imagine having 5 hours of daylight... well we does have that special phenomenon called permanent cloudy day when the sun refuse to shine at all (i blame pat) even that is too depressing to me..

Are we really running out of fossil fuels, or is it just that those private American firms in the middle east are just cashing-in on their investments????? Its a conspiracy I tell ya....

Wah...so serious these days, Pat??? Just move to Sibu! Every place is SO near you won't need much fuel for ur car. Somebody said...in Sibu, u can do so many things in an hour! In KL, u're still in ur car...and worse still, stuck in a jam!

I beg to disagree!!! Food in Sibu ALSO nice! You just need to know where to find it. Same as in Ipoh or anywhere else for that matter, I guess! Here, 1 bowl of kampua noodles RM2...used to be RM1.70/RM1.80 and fried noodles and stuff RM2.50 from RM2.20 before. Still cheaper than KL or Penang. Ipoh so cheap too? I know in Sungai Petani, it's just as cheap, if not cheaper!!!

And yes, Martin. Some 10 years ago, the price of ONE bulb of garlic was 20p...and that's about RM1.50...and the same too for ONE dried chilli! at the Chinese shop in Plymouth!!!
