Wonders will never cease! For once, he's speechless!!! And as Confusedcius would say, "If one doesn't know what to say, then it is time to remain silent!" ...Hey, isn't that from "The King and I', the original Yul Brynner version?

In that case Tiong must be 5, 10, 15 years old or could even be before he was born when he became the co-founder?? ...Amazing. Laughing Laughing

Let's not get too carried away about Sarawak's achievement....it's no big deal.

If anything, I can also tell you the world's nastiest nurses and amahs and dressers and pharmacists are found in all the Sarawak hospitals. The world's most unpleasant and unfriendly bus conductors and conductress unfortunately come from Sarawak too. And the postoffice staff....the list goes on and on... (Of course it's a different story if you announce before hand that you are some Dato's or Datins or Tan Sri's or what have you.)

I am a Sarawakian too and am certainly not proud to see all these uncivilised & uncouth citizens in our midst...

Whether we are a civilized society or not is judged not by some structures.

Aww...ReginaC! Let's not get back to that again!

Actually, it's the same everywhere. Those teachers coming over here will stick to themselves because they can't blend into the established groups where people spoke a language quite alien to them (in Sibu, not hard to guess what that is!) and after 5 years, they can't wait to go back! In one of the earlier posts,

I did mention Fadzillah Amin's DANCE...;it's all about this! Somehow we never get to TOUCH. When things are going on so well in the forum...somebody HAS to bring it up...and spoil it all!!!

Many blogs came under fire and the poor bloggers had to shut them down!!! I always said if not happy, just go to other blogs...but my advice always fell on deaf ears! When people get emotional, they cannot listen anymore!!!

I guess I have always been thick-skinned, kay po...whatever. When I went to England, I went round the pubs, making friends with everybody...and I went to the church and joined the student group and made friends with students from the universities in the vicinity - there were some from Spain, Portugal, Russia...Africa even! What did the other Malaysians do? They just communed among themselves...and the worst thing - they started getting on each other's nerves and started squabbling!!! I had a wonderful time in England...;they didn't.

PARTING WORDS: LIfe is what u make it! Live it the way u want it!

True that Arthur.... But I guess why they stick together is that they don't want to share their 'sambal belacan' stock with 'foreigners' who wish to experience it. It just might deplete their stock.....

Ha ha ha! When I was in England and I fried things with belacan, the people walking past the house were spitting away. Must be wondering what stench that was. But when I was cooking curry, they went, "Ummm....Ahhh...ummm...ahhh!!!" Well, if they thought I would ask them in, fat chance!!! Not at the prices of food in the UK!!!

True there Arthur.. i agree... when i was abroad ( be it anywhere around the world) i found that Malaysian students tend to stick by themselves hence they dun really enjoy their time abroad be it for studying or leisure...

quite saddened by that fact... yeah you can find your country mate abroad but .... still you are given the chance to study and stay abroad and it is a chance to explore the outside world.. somehow.. they dun understand that.. which is why when they return to Malaysia they tend to be overeact on how they were abroad but dunno the essence of it... just brag.. but when ask simple general question.. cannot answer ..

i strongly wish that these kids would open their eyes to the possibilities out there... and they are given the chance to be there.. just grab it.. if i were given that chance man.. i think i wun be in Malaysia right now..

life cant wait... why should you..

I get to meet a number of bloggers... Made a number of friends like how I've made many good friends by being part of "Pat and Mag in the afternoon". But I don't go into those "serious" blogs...and get all worked up and depressed. Mostly, I choose the nonsensical ones where people talk crap (some quite adult, so sorry, Sister Mary Anne) just for the fun of it to "get away from it all". Life's too serious and depressing as it is. People go for walks, play games, watch TV...I go into blogs and fansites and create havoc! He he he he he!!!

P.S.: I love life overseas, a whole new experience - UK, NZ...umm...maybe not Australia but at the end of the day, I would still choose to come home - to Sibu in particular. Remove a tree from its roots, what happens to the tree? The Chinese have a saying: (Direct translation) Smelly, smelly also...it's your own home.
