.... they are now talking about banning palm oil that is not from a 'Sustainable' source. That means that where rain forest is cut down to grow palm oil then this is considered a 'non-sustainable' source. Currently they are looking for alternatives that are 'Sustainable'. The big supermarkets are now signing up to this Sainsbury's, Asda, and a lot more. That will increase the cost of food yet again... _________________ Cheers,

Yet they're getting the Third World Countries to plant oil palm and other crops for the production of biofuels for use in developed countries??? The poor farmers of course scrambled on the bandwagon and started planting to cash in on this, occupying land formerly used for food crops. Never mind that the people are starving!
P.S.: BTW, logically speaking, if u clear forests and plant oil palm trees, isn't this something like...instead of using Philips u switch to Sony??? Here in Sarawak, they even plant crops like pineapple in between the trees for supplementary income. We call it "nanas sawit" (oil palm pineapple) Nice!!! Very very sweet!!! _________________ CIKGU ARTHUR
