They're everywhere - people who make themselves feel better at out expense. but if we're prepared, they wont have power over us. Here's how to deflect the vampires as they strike.
Constant Talker
Scenario: Your airplane seatmate wants to talk politics for the whole fight.
Solution: Say, "That's interesting, but I hope you understand, this is my time to relax. I need to read now."
The Drama Queen
Scenario: To your co worker , losing RM 1.00 in hending machine is the end of the world.
Solution: Say, "Iam sorry that happaned. I hope you can work it out - but I need to get back to work."
Knife Twister
Scenario: A "friend" consoles you after a bad date saying, "maybe you're setting your sights too high."
Solution: Minimise contact with that person. At the least, tell her, "that was hurtful. Please dont say thing like that to me." Then recornise the insults for the insecurity they slow. |

An alternative:
Constant Talker
Scenario: Your airplane seatmate wants to talk politics for the whole fight.
Solution: Say, "I don't feel too well, how many sick bags do you you have on your side?"
The Drama Queen
Scenario: To your co worker , losing RM 1.00 in vending machine is the end of the world.
Solution: Say, "There's a special override switch on the back that is a super reject switch, if you can reach"
Knife Twister
Scenario: A "friend" consoles you after a bad date saying, "maybe you're setting your sights too high."
Solution: Say, "... but they went out with you three times and still said I was the better date... perhaps I am setting my sights too high" _________________ Cheers,
Martin
