I love Lynn Anderson's Don't wish me a Merry Christmas, John Lennon's Happy X'mas (War is over) and this one by Mag's fave singer...
An Old Christmas Card - Jim Reeves
(It's the mem'ry of an old Christmas card)
There's an old Christmas card in an old dusty trunk
And it brings back sweet mem'ries dear to me
Though it's faded and worn it's as precious as the morn
When I found it neath our first Christmas tree
I thrill with every word every line
Guess I'm always sentimental round this time
Pardon me if a tear falls among my Christmas cheer
It's the mem'ry of an old Christmas card
You know I don't know why I get to feeling sentimental about this time every year
But every time I see a Christmas card I somehow can't help reminiscing
About the very first Christmas that you and I spent together
What a beautiful Christmas card you gave me that year
Why I know you must have looked through thousands of cards
To find that wonderful poem that still brings a tear to my eye
I thrill with every word every line
Guess I'm always sentimental round this time
Pardon me if a tear falls among my Christmas cheer
It's the mem'ry of an old Christmas card
P.S.: Dunno why but Traxx never played it... It's VERY popular in Sarawak and round Xmas time, u'll hear it several times a day over the local RTM station (RedeFM). Obviously some people have better taste??? He he he he he!!!! _________________ CIKGU ARTHUR

this is one of my favourite christmas tunes too Arthur!
and excuse me, but I've played the song before! Maybe you just never caught it... I like the older classic christmas songs, plus my dad listens sometimes, so I like playing these songs cuz when growing up, I used to hear these songs on radio too...
Ayo... you listened at the wrong time lah and then say TraXxfm no play, no taste! _________________ Happy, Healthy & Bubbly |

Ok...let's hope we'll get to hear more of it this year. I also love Nat King Cole's The Christmas Song. "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire...) _________________ CIKGU ARTHUR

That would be killing two birds with one stone! Roasted chestnuts and roast pork!!! BTW, I heard the parody of that song once - sumting about nuts roasting on an open fire...but I can't remember anything else. Was quite funny! _________________ CIKGU ARTHUR

yeah...in that fantasy... i am successful young billionaire...but all alone in a foreign city.. everyone else in the city is with my family... sad? not really... i am really savouring the stillness of my palatial penthouse..shielding me from the heavy snow outside... from afar i can see the ornate crown of the Chrysler building.. like a giant Christmas tree on top of the city.. "silent night" is playing on the sound system.. ahhh could this moment be any better?...i might be alone...but somehow... i am enjoying it..

hmmm can i be on the cover of vanity fair???
btw continuation of my short story... title "A billionaire christmas in new york"
.... the christmas dinner he cooked for himself is ready. Pamela, his cook is probably enjoying her dinner with her family in the Bronx. He really hope that his christmas present to Rosalyn and her family compensate to all that Pamela had done to him.. A family trip to Fiji, An SUV to James, Pamela husband and sholarship to rosalyn 3 sons. He really hope rosalyn appreciate her gifts... as much as he is appreciating how Pamela has helped him all this while.
...suddenly Zul's blackberry buzzes... hmm an email from Art... A christmas wish from him... and not forgeting his usual dirty jokes... ahhh how he misses the old time.. Art is always the one....
to be continued
