|
|
Those groups that are now famous have names that we take for granted. BUt when they first came up with the name and used it I wonder what the reaction was to the name? Hot Chocolate, pah! Black Sabbath, you gotta be joking! Back Street Boys, you what! Take That, take what?
So if you were starting a new band what name would you come up with?
How about the Rubber Baboons or the Recycled Bins
Ideas please _________________ Cheers,

Looking at our music library, you can actually see the evolution of band names from the 50's till the present...
From names like the Drifters, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Supremes, in the 50's & 60's, where names were simple; either from nature or the dictionary
To the 70's & 80's names had to be unique, Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, Level 42, Earth, Wind & Fire
Then came the 90's, where name had to have you scratching your head to sense of it... The Goo Goo Dolls, The Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Third Eye Blind, Deep Blue Something....
Nowadays, i think if its something you can Google and that'll be it... |

...The Drifters makes sense, The Beach Boys makes sense but where did The BEastles come from.... and the spelling... and they spawned even more... the Boomtown Rats, Thin Lizzy..
Soon we'll have Expansive Underwear, Viagra Pills, Honda Wanderer, Proton Precurers, Petronas Puppets, KL Vipers, Suria Towers, Becha Riders, Buddhist Knights.... _________________ Cheers,
