My local pub was built in the late 1500's... thought you might like to see the inside so here is a shot showing the interior, it is real, and Marie, with a pint and my golf partner Kevin...
The beam running away from you is older than the pub and was originally part of a sailing ship..... the outside is even more olde worlde.... _________________ Cheers,

Ah...I love the English pubs (They say Irish is nicer but I've never been to Westlife/Boyzone/U2 land). Used to hang out at THE GOOD COMPANION in Plymouth on Wednesdays cos they've got Karaoke...and it was students' nite (OK, I was "old" student then) and I got to meet students from all over the world even Portugal (Mag's relatives), Russia etc. Made a lot of "pub friends"...and on my last nite, I sang Pat's favourite song "THE ROSE" and they lifted their lighters (No handphones then) and waved them in the air....! Gee! Like Rock concert!!! (Bette Midler in the movie!) Ah...what wonderful memories!!! _________________ CIKGU ARTHUR

... with the smoking ban now in place the pubs in Ireland and United Kingdom are suffering with trade... smokers were not the majority in the country but as far as pubs and clubs were concerned they were... now we all have to go outside to smoke but you can't have an enclosed shelter outside so they put up sheletrs with three sides... and now Autumn (Fall) is here so things are getting chillier.. and Winter to come... debate.. give up smoking or give up pub... _________________ Cheers,

Errr Martin, that looks like something dug into the ground. Perhaps if u look closer, there'll be a doorway leading to a dungeon used to lock up prisoners. _________________ Yours Truly,

Talking of pubs reminds me of this one:
The Landlady of the "George & Dragon" was outside the pub when the John Cleese character arrived.
.....He greeted her, "And how's George?"
Cheers,
